Yes we have signed our contract for our upcoming 37th Annual Show and Auction known as The Egg-laying Toothcarp Jamboree! This year it’ll be held the weekend of Oct. 28 – 29, 2017. It’s a little earlier than in the past to avoid a scheduling conflict with another Aquarium Experience. Click on the Annual Show button for detailed info about our speaker and her talk, events, hotel and more... The AKA sanctioned event, will be held at the GRANDSTAY Hotel& Suites located at 6331 South 13 Street, Milwaukee, WI ph: 414-764-1500.This is the same hotel as the past years but is now under NEW management and is being renovated.
Our featured guest speaker is Dr. Rebecca Fuller, University of IL Animal Biology Professor. Dr. Fuller has done extensive research on Bluefin Killifish and how color and vision affect Killifish and their mating habits. She also has an avid interest in Native Fishes. The seminar will be presented Saturday afternoon, Oct. 28th.

Sunday Sept. 17, 2017
Sept 2017 Meeting update Our next WAKO meeting will be held on Sunday Sept. 17th with arrivals after 2pm and business portion starting by 4pm. Our host will be Ruth Warner, in Machesney, IL. It’s always fun to visit the different homes of our members which attracts people from varied locations. This brings together folks who don’t always have an opportunity to attend and very often killies in the auction that are not always readily available. So pack up some of your killies and join the meeting at Ruth’s place! Good company, conversation and always a great time. Submitted by Gis Gasior
